OPP Conducting Sudden Death Investigation in Cramahe Township

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the sudden death of an adult male who was located on a residential property on County Road 2, east of the town of Colborne.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at approximately 7:00 p.m., OPP officers and Northumberland Paramedics arrived at the scene and found a male inside an outbuilding with obvious signs of trauma and no vital signs.

The body was removed from the building after 6 p.m. on Wendesday, May 20, 2020.

Members of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario, are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this death under the direction of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch.

The investigation is in its early stages and further details will be released as they become available and deemed appropriate.
