David Neil who works for Koppert Canada bundled up the flowers with the help of his wife Paula and their daughter Briar in their Niagara region home.

Port Hope resident Sarah Orr and her 15 year-old son Owen are relatives of staff members of Koppert Canada delivered the flowers to four long term care facilities and group homes in mainly the Cobourg and Port Hope area on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

The long term care facilities were, The Wynfield in Oshawa, Extendicare in Port Hope, Hope Street Terrace in Port Hope, Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg and nine group homes operated by Christian Horizons.

General Manager Sherry Shaw said Koppert Canada wanted to support the growers during this difficult time by purchasing bundles of their flowers to also spread some joy and smiles through out the community.

“We hoped this would bring some happiness to the people who got to enjoy them.”

Program Manager for Christian Horizons Priscilla Holden said all the locations very much appreciated the donation.

“It brings some sunshine during these dark days.”

“It’s wonderful to see for our employees that someone is caring and thinking about them while they are still working.”

Sometimes Group Homes are forgotten but the flowers they received from Koppert Canada, “brought them so much joy.”
