Driver Airlifted to Toronto Trauma Centre Following Collision In Municipality of Port Hope

One person was airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto following a collision on Monday, April 27, 2020 in the Municipality of Port Hope.

Emergency services responded to the intersection of County Road 9 and County Road 10 in Garden Hill.

A car travelling northbound on County Road 10 collided with a scrap recycling truck travelling westbound on County Road 9.

The vehicle collided heavily with the driver’s side of the commercial motor vehicle in the area of the front wheel and fuel tank before spinning around and hitting the rear wheels of the truck.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was airlifted from Northumberland Hills Hospital.

The driver of the commercial motor vehicle wasn’t injured.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators examined the scene extensively.
