MNRF Keeps A Watchful Eye As Trout Season Opens In Area

In Local

At 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2020 it was opening season for trout in the area.

The Province declared they would allow trout season to open during COVID-19, but municipalities have imposed by-law restrictions including the closing of parks which prevents anglers access to waterways including in the Cobourg and Port Hope areas.

Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Officers were on patrol throughout the region keeping an eye on anglers in the areas including Cobourg and Port Hope.

Anglers came from as far as Woodstock with their families to enjoy the opening day of trout season.
