Northumberland OPP Constable Rob Simpson who organized the event said the message was to Northumberland Hills Hospital and Campbellford Memorial Hospital.

“We’re standing behind them and we’re showing our support on behalf of the emergency services in Northumberland.”

“I know the policing family is a tight knit family, the fire family is a tight knit family, so we’d like to extend thanks from our family to their family.”

At 7:30 p.m. Simpson called out over his radio, “Foxtrot 72 – light them up,” and one by one each emergency vehicle in the Emergency area parking lot activated their emergency lights and sirens.

Officers exited their vehicles and saluted the staff of the hospital.

Some of the people in attendance, including Northumberland Hills Hospital President and CEO Linda Davis were brought to tears.

“It’s heartwarming to see our emergency responders thanking our and recognizing our staff, but also we’d like to recognize them. We our a team, we work together always.

Davis said hospital staff are very appreciative of the support they’ve been receiving from emergency services and the public..

“We are a team – we’re in this together.
