Breaking News – Video – Cobourg Police – Witnesses Sought Following Shooting Investigation

The Cobourg Police Service are investigating a shooting that took place earlier today, after the victim attended an area hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

On March , 2020, at approximately 10:45 AM , police responded to a call from hospital staff in relation to a weapons investigation. Upon arrival, police were advised that someone had dropped an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound off at the hospital. The male is currently being assessed for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The location of the shooting is unknown at this time.

This incident is being investigated by members of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, assisted by members of Uniform Patrol, Forensic Identification Services and Special Constables.  The investigation is in the early stages and investigators believe that this was not a random incident.

Today’s Northumberland reached out to other police agencies in the area, Port Hope Police and Northumberland OPP have had no incidents regarding a shooting.
