COVID-19 has affected everyone in Ontario, and Northumberland County is no different. People are having to make difficult choices about when to leave their homes and what supplies they may need if the pandemic continues to disturb everyday life.

People, however, aren’t the only ones affected. Pets are also in need. With people being laid off and uncertainty still surrounding where money is coming from, the Northumberland Humane Society has reopened its pet food bank to help families who may not be able to afford food for their four-legged furry family members.

Lakeridge Chrysler in Port Hope is offering a free pet food delivery service. Together with the Northumberland Humane Society, they are offering to help the members of our community keep their pets’ food shelves stocked.

If you find yourself in need, you are encouraged to call the Northumberland Humane Society at 905-885-4131. This is a free service for residents in Northumberland County.
