Northumberland United Way Closing Until Further Notice

In Local

For the safety of our staff, volunteers, and visitors, Northumberland United Way will be closing our office as of March 16 until further notice. During this time, all staff will be working remotely and remain dedicated to the individuals and social services in our community that may need extra support during this time.

We’re preparing for the inevitable increased pressure on community partners who provide shelter, food, mental health supports, and unfunded health-related items. In response, we have launched the Northumberland United Way COVID-19 Community Relief Fund to support these efforts locally. All dollars raised will be put to work where they are needed most.

Please make your donation online at www.mynuw.org or send by mail to: Northumberland United Way, 62 Swayne Street, Cobourg K9A 1K5

We will also be cancelling all upcoming United Way meetings, and our annual Campaign Achievement Breakfast scheduled for April 8. Our Online Auction will run as scheduled. While you’re at home and practicing social distancing, please check our auction website to view some of the wonderful items donated by generous, local businesses.

Finally, we would like to remind residents in Northumberland County about utilizing 2-1-1 for any services, questions and/or concerns regarding personal health, food sustainability, and essential necessities. 2-1-1 is a free helping that connects you to community and social services right here in Northumberland County. An update from United Way
