It was an emotional meeting for everyone on Sunday, March 8, 2020 when Tracey McBride and Lorna Dickson who work at CPK Interiors arrived at the Cobourg home of a 15-year-old youth that was the victim of a vicious assault.
Hunter was outside a convenience store on Divison Street in Cobourg on March 3, 2020 when he was assaulted unconscious. The assault was captured on video.
While Hunter lay unconscious on the ground a few of his friends, and even a grade nine student who didn’t know him stayed around to help him.
Hunter was taken back to school where an ambulance was called and he was rushed to Northumberland Hills Hospital.
When video of the attack spread on social media, people were irate that know one stopped the attack. Adults even walked by as Hunter lay unconscious.
One youth has been charged with assault. Hunter has been home since the attack recuperating and going to doctors appointments.
Hunter’s mother has spoken with Today’s Northumberland several times and said the family has been “overwhelmed” with support from Cobourg and beyond.
With the permission of Hunter’s mother and father, Today’s Northumberland is showing the video of the meeting that took place at Hunter’s home.
