Cobourg Police Chief “Overwhelmed” At the Turnout for “Coffee with the Chief”

In Editor Choice, Local

Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf said he was “overwhelmed” by the response of the public on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.

VandeGraaf invited members of the public for a “Coffee with the Chief at The Dutch Oven on King Street West from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Over 60 people, “took time from their personal lives to share their experiences,” VandeGraaf told Today’s Northumberland.

“Some were very positive reinforcements of the great work all or staff are doing every night and day.”

“Other comments were directed at areas that we have to improve on. As Chief I accept full responsibility for any issues where we can be better and will ensure that actions are in place not words.

Together we will ensure that our community grows, remains strong and vibrant and overcomes any obstacles.”

Also with the Chief was Staff Sergeant Scott Bambridge and Auxiliary Superintendent Duncan Walker who also listened to the concerns from members of the public.

VandeGraaf said he appreciated members of the public coming out and their “willingness to share, communicate and extend me the opportunity of fellowship – until next time.”
