No Injuries After Car Bursts Into Flames On Highway 401 Near Cobourg

Five people were unhurt after their car caught fire on Highway 401 west of Cobourg on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. Cobourg and Hamilton Township Fire Departments responded to a car fire on Highway 401 west of Burnham Street.

The car was fully involved when crews arrived on scene.

Five people travelling from Quebec to Toronto managed to escape before the car became engulfed in flames.

It’s believed the fire started in the engine area and spread throughout the vehicle.
