Cobourg Police – Two Parties Arrested for Theft of Donation Jar

On Monday the 27th of January, at approximately 1:00pm, Police responded to a Church located in the downtown core after receiving information that a donation jar, had been removed from the premise.

As a result of a subsequent police investigation, 22-year-old Amanda MUNRO of Cobourg was located, arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and Possession of Property obtained by crime under the Criminal Code.

Additionally, 28-year-old Nicholas McCARTHY of Port Hope was located arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.00 and two counts of failing to comply with Probation under the Criminal Code.

MUNRO and McCARTHY were released from police custody scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in March of 2020.
