Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Private Plow Operator Charged With Impaired Driving

On the morning of Tuesday January 7, 2020 at 7:30 am the Kawartha Lakes Police Service was contacted by a citizen who was concerned for the safety of a snow plow operator.

The citizen reported to have found a privately owned snow plow stopped in a parking lot, with the operator of the plow truck unconscious in the driver’s seat.

The snow plow operator was awake when officers arrived at the scene and it was determined he was impaired by alcohol.

The operator was arrested and had been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 0.08.

56-year-old Murray J. Staples of Ennismore will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street west in Lindsay on February 13, 2020.
