Breaking News – Cobourg Man Charged With Impaired Driving On Boxing Day

A 19-year-old Cobourg man was charged with impaired by drug after a single motor vehicle collision in Cobourg on Thursday, December 26, 2019.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. emergency services responded to the east side of Cobourg on Workman Road just south of Elgin Street East.

A vehicle travelling northbound went into the southbound lane and into the ditch. The vehicle travelled a considerable distance striking numerous shrubs leaving parts from the vehicle before colliding with a tree and stopping.  Numerous containers of alcohol were removed from the vehicle.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody at the scene.

After being checked over by paramedics, the man was taken to Cobourg Police Station where he was charged with impaired driving.
