“Jammies for Kids In Care” in Full Swing by Port Hope Police

Port Hope Police are once again collecting “Jammies for Kids In Care” at the Port Hope Police Station.

This is the third annual event organized by Constable Tammie Staples of the Port Hope Police Service.

Staples said, “the hope is to give a pair to every child in care” at the Highland Shores Children’s Aid.

Since the creation of the program the community have been extremely gracious with approximately 150 pairs pjyamas for collected.

“We’ll accept all sizes, because kids come in all sizes.”

There is a box located at the Port Hope Police Station at 55 Fox Road just off Toronto Road.

Staples adds, if anyone is unable to get to the police station, new this year are drop off boxes on town transit.

“It’s all about family and giving back to our community.”

So far, approximately 40 pairs have been donated this year with 10 pairs being donated after the Port Hope Santa Claus parade on Saturday.

All donations must be in by December 18 to be distributed to the children.
