Breaking News – Cobourg Police Service Execute Drug Warrant

The Cobourg Police Service has executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances act warrant as part of an ongoing enhanced enforcement strategy targeting illegal drug activity affecting our community and the safety of our citizens.

On Tuesday the 5th day of November, 2019 as part of a drug enforcement operation, members of the Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch, Uniform Patrol and Forensic Identification Services executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a James Street West residence in Cobourg.

As a result of this investigation and search, police seized a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $ 5395.00. An illegal Conducted Energy Weapon (also known as a taser) and replica BB Guns were also seized as a result of the investigation.
The following persons were charged:

Cory KEERS, 33 years of age, of Cobourg is charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
3. Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code

Erin RUTHERFORD, 21 years of age, of Cobourg is charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
2. Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code
3. Possess Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
4. Possess Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
5. Possess Schedule 1 Substance – Fentanyl – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
6. Posses Weapon Contrary to Order – contrary to section 117.01 of the Criminal Code

Jordan GILL-BEVAN, 27 years of age, of Cobourg is charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
2. Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code

Lindsey TURLAND, 32 years of age, of Cobourg is charged with:
1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
2. Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code
3. Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

All Four arrested parties held for bail hearings scheduled for November 5, 2019.
