Final Episode for Season 13 of Murdoch Mysteries Filmed In Cobourg

In Local

The final episode for season 13 of Murdoch Mysteries was filmed in downtown Cobourg on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Parking meters were covered and facades were put up in various locations transforming parts of downtown Cobourg.

Cast and crew first filmed along Third Street outside Kelly’s Homelike Inn where the front was turned into a bus stop for the series finale of season 13.

Fans of the show watched from the east side of the street sitting on benches by Market Square as the crew and actors were set in place and did a number of rehearsals before the final take which lasted less than one minute.

Then it was off to the front of Victoria Hall which played the roll of a train station while fans watched from across the street.

While crew members moved their equipment to the front of Victoria Hall some cast members waited in the foyer to be called to the set.

Murdoch Mysteries along with a number of other productions and movies have filmed in Cobourg and area over the years, but speaking to various people on location on Wednesday, the cast and crew of Murdoch Mysteries are the most friendliest and accommodating for fans and people interested in the industry.

One woman was very thrilled to get a smile and wave from Jonny Harris who plays Constable George Crabtree just before filming. It’s little things like a smile and wave from an actor that people like this woman will remember.

People watching sometimes are nervous about bothering the cast members, so a friendly wave certainly did make this woman’s day.

Even while some of the cast members were sitting in the foyer, they were extremely accommodating.

While photographing Harris (Crabtree), he got photobombed by another cast member.

Murdoch Mysteries has visited Cobourg many times over the 13 seasson for filming.

Cast and crew are here so much, it’s almost like they’re apart of the Cobourg family.
