Northumberland OPP – Tow Truck Driver Charged With Stunt Driving

In Police Blotter

A tow truck driver was charged with Stunt Driving on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.

Northumberland OPP Constable Chad Laperle was northbound on County Road 28, north of Port Hope when a tow truck approached him at a high rate of speed going southbound just south of Donaldson Road, south of Bewdley.

Laperle clocked the speed of the vehicle at 147 kph in a 80 kph zone, and after turning around pulled the vehicle over near the 6th Line.

“There’s no excuse to drive that fast. It’s 3:50 in the afternoon, school buses are out, kids are out – there is no need for it.”

The tow truck was impounded for seven days and the driver’s license was also suspended for seven days.
