Breaking News – “Serious” Incident Outside Rebound Child and Youth Services In Cobourg

One man was arrested for assault with a weapon after police said a “serious” incident took place in Cobourg on Thursday, July 18, 2019.

The front glass door of Rebound Child and Youth Services Northumberland was broken.

Two people were taken away in handcuffs and one person was taken to hospital after suffering what is believed to have been a medical incident.

Police haven’t said if any of the incident happened inside the building or not.

Today’s Northumberland spoke to a witness who said a man was walking inside the building to pick up his child when a person was coming out of the building. The person coming out of the building was swearing and the man asked him to stop as there were children in the area.

An altercation ensued and the person who came out of the building grabbed a hammer from a nearby car.

The man entered the front door of the facility and the person smashed the glass with the hammer cutting himself.

No children were harmed said police. They also weren’t sure how many children were inside the building.

One man was arrested for assault with a weapon and police said there were minor injuries as a result of the incident and there is no danger to the public.
