Sign Of The Times How Small Town Celebrations Have Changed

In Editorial

Editorial – It’s an unfortunate sign of the times how even small town celebrations have changed and the community has to be “vigilant” in the face of the “what if’s.”

During the Canada Day celebrations in Port Hope at least two of the municipalities dump trucks were set-up blocking Walton Street and Ontario Street.

Port Hope Police Deputy Chief Darren Strongman would only say that it was strictly proactive placing the trucks on the street and they have been doing it for at least two years.

It’s obvious what they were there for, it’s just unfortunate.
