Grass Fire In Downtown Cobourg

In Local

Members of the Cobourg Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Third Street, just south of King Street on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at approximately 2:13 p.m.

A fire in a flower bed area was burning and firefighters quickly extinguished it.

Through investigation it’s believed a discarded cigarette may have ignited the fire even though there is a cigarette receptacle approximately one metre from where the fire was burning.
