Water continues to cause concerns along the shoreline of Lake Ontario for residents.

Lake Ontario’s level was 75.86 m (248.88 ft) yesterday. This is 81 cm (31.9 in.) above average and 2 cm (0.8 in.) below the record daily peak level of 75.88 m (248.95 ft) recorded on May 25th, 2017.

In Bowmanville, all that can be done has been done for residents along Cedar Crest Beach Road.

Sandbags have been built up and municipalt staff check-in with residents often, but the waves are starting to crash over the sandbag berms that have been built.

Reports indicate Lake Ontario still hasn’t peaked, and that combined with the weather could cause major problems for homeowners.

Erosion along the shoreline is takinig its toll on trees.

In Cobourg, the boat launch is nearly disappeared with high water along with areas of the pathway at the marina.

Debris litters the shoreline that has washed up.

Life Guard stations there were moved back because of the rising water are now surrounded.

A popular tourist destination, the Cobourg beach has also nearly disappeared because of the rising water.
