Cobourg Police – Coffee With A Cop

In Upcoming Events

The Cobourg Police Service Chief and Deputy invite the public to join them for “Coffee with a Cop” on May 30, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the Human Bean.

“Coffee with a Cop” is an international initiative that started in 2011 with its goal to break down the barriers between police officers and the communities they serve. The Cobourg Police Service continually strive to become more open and transparent with the community and feel this is a great way to engage citizens in a comfortable, friendly, open environment.

“As first responders, we are always getting calls of distress and approaching community members in those settings where we can be seen as intimidating. This is a way for us to been seen as everyday people, having everyday conversations. We encourage people to come and ask law-related questions, learn more about our tiered policing, or even who our favourite hockey team is. We’re opened to just talk,” says Acting Chief of Police Paul VandeGraaf.

Bring your questions, voice your opinions and get to know your officers of the Cobourg Police Service. May 30, is the first of three scheduled “Coffee with a Cop”. We will look to attendees for feedback to see how we can improve this initiative.

Upcoming “Coffee with a Cop” at the Human Bean (80 King St. W., Cobourg):

May 30, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.

June 6, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.

June 13, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.
