Breaking News – OPP Conducting Criminal Investigation In Downtown Colborne

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating an incident in Colborne on May 23, 2019 where a man was airlifted to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

At approximately 6:09 p.m. emergency services were dispatched to the area of Percy Street between County Road 2 and Church Street for a person laying on the street.

The person was taken by Northumberland County Paramedics to Northumberland Hills Hospital where he was airlifted shortly after to a trauma centre.

Witnesses at the scene said the person had obvious signs of trauma.

Later in the evening police blocked off a section of Percy Street with crime tape in the area where the man was found.

Victim Services were also on scene, along with an ambulance and ambulance supervisor and numerous police officers including a Detective with the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit.

Today’s Northumberland has learned there was blood in the stairwell leading up to apartments in one of the buildings along Percy Street.

A person in another apartment was displaced while police conducted a criminal investigation into how the person was injured and examined evidence in the hallway and stairwell.

Today’s Northumberland will advice when updates are available.
