Northumberland-Peterborough South MP Kim Rudd was in Warkworth last week to announce a $25,000 New Horizons for seniors grant for St. Paul’s United Church.
Rudd stood in for the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister of Seniors, in making the announcement – the latest in a string of New Horizons announcements in Northumberland in recent weeks.
The New Horizon for Seniors Program recognizes the significant contributions seniors make to their families, communities and country by supporting initiative that help them stay active and involved.
In the case of St. Paul’s, the grant will assist with kitchen renovations that will allow the community’s seniors to continue to attend gatherings and cooking classes that foster social inclusion and participation.
