Salvation Army’s Northumberland Community Outreach Program Making A Difference

The Salvation Army’s Northumberland Community Mobile Outreach Program is reaching people in the community who need assistance.
NCMOP which was launched on April 4, 2019 and Director, Community and Family Services Edward Nikyi said between April 4, 2019 and April 30, 2019 said the truck made four trips to Port Hope and four trips to Cobourg respectively delivering a total of 401 meals to residents.

Port Hope recorded 184 meals delivered and Cobourg recorded 217.
During the period, the NCMOP had the opportunity and privilege to serve two homeless clients and delivered four sleeping bags and four survival kits (backpacks stuffed with personal cleaning items). A voucher for a coat was also issued to one youth.
Below is a breakdown of the populations we served:
COBOURG:

Male Seniors: 3

Female Seniors: 4

Male Adults: 28

Female Adults: 56

Male Teens: 14

Female Teens: 9

Children: 103

TOTAL: 217

 

PORT HOPE:

Male Seniors: 12

Female Seniors: 14

Male Adults: 54

Female Adults: 58

Male Teens: 14

Female Teens: 0

Children: 32

TOTAL: 184
