Northumberland OPP – Traffic Complaint Leads to Impaired Charge

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an impaired driver thanks to the efforts of a concerned member of the public.
Just before 6:30 pm on Thursday April 25, 2019 police received a call from a concerned motorist regarding a suspected impaired driver. A dark colored passenger van travelling southbound on County road 45 was reported to be all over the road travelling at in consistent speeds then come to a stop on the shoulder of the road north of Harwood Road.
Officers located the vehicle and an approved screening device test was administered on the male driver, which he failed. The driver was then placed under arrest, and transported to the Northumberland Detachment in Cobourg where further tests were conducted registering in over four times the legal limit.
Evan Alexander CRAWLEY (age 31) of Mutrie, Ontario was charged with:
Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
He is to appear in at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 29, 2019.
