Breaking News – Minor Electrical Fire At Port Hope Church

In Local

The Port Hope Fire Department responded to St. John The Evangelist Anglican Church on Pine Street North for reports of an electrical fire at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019.
A neighbour heard a loud bang and noticed sparks shooting from an electrical outlet just outside the main church on the south side.
Members of the fire department responded and turned off hydro inside the church.
Hydro crews from Veridian arrived and turned off the power and worked on repairing the damage.
No word on what caused the incident, and there was very minor smoke damage in the basement of the church.
