Rice Lake was the sight for the Ontario Snowmobile Oval Races on Saturday, February 9, 2019.
The Golden Cup was up for grabs as racing took place on Saturday as well as Sunday.
The machines may have been vintage in looks but the speed on the oval track wasn’t with sleds reaching top speed on the lake just off Golden Beach Resort leaning into the corners.
The sleds definitely weren’t the kind for a leisure travel through the woods over the weekend. Most were for high performance racing and at least once a official had to make a leap for safety.
