Peterborough OPP – Investigating Dump Truck Collision on Highway 115

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision involving a dump truck on Highway 115 near Bensfort Road shortly after 6:30am this morning.

The dump truck was travelling southbound on Highway 115 when the driver lost control and left the roadway. The dump truck went down an embankment and collided with a fence. The driver was removed from the dump truck with assistance from firefighters and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Ministry of Environment was notified and assisted firefighters with cleanup of diesel fuel that had leaked from the dump truck.

The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation.
