Vehicle Gets A Lift After Going In Ditch On Highway 401

In Local, Photo Gallery, Police Blotter

The eastbound Highway 401 off-ramp to Division Street south in Cobourg was closed for approximately one hour on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
A vehicle was travelling eastbound lost control and struck the south side guard rail along the highway shortly before 9 a.m.
The vehicle then went over the guard rail landing upright.
Snow piled along the roadway may have been a factor in the vehicle going over the guard rail.
The lone occupant wasn’t injured, but the difficulty was retrieving the vehicle from the other side of the guard rails.
A heavy tow truck was brought in to assist in the removal and with the off-ramp shut down the car was lifted over the guard rail and removed approximately one hour later.
