Peterborough County OPP – Car Collides With Pedestrian on Highway 115

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision on the southbound lanes of Highway 115 near County Road 10 this evening at approximately 8:20pm.

A vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 115 collided with a pedestrian that was walking along the roadway. The pedestrian has died as a result of the collision. No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The southbound lanes of Highway 115 are currently closed at County Road 10 while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation and the identity of the victim will not be released until next of kin are notified.

The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Justen PERRITT (age 28) of Warkworth, Ontario.

The deceased will be transported to The Provincial Forensic Pathology Unit at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex in Toronto for a post mortem examination.

The collision remains under investigation.
