A Slant of Light SONG Benefit Concert Shines Through the Winter Darkness

In Upcoming Events

On Saturday February 2, the Safe Harbour Chamber Choir returns with their annual benefit concert for Sounds of the Next Generation (SONG). This year’s benefit concert, A Slant of Light, will take place at the Market Building, 201 Second Street in Cobourg.
There are two performances, at 2pm and 7:30pm, and tickets are $25.
There are only a handful of tickets remaining, and they are available at Ten Thousand Villages Cobourg.
In addition to performing with the kids in the SONG program at each of their concerts, Safe Harbour yearly raises between $7,000-$10,000 for the local music charity. “Being in Safe Harbour, you commit to a sort of mentorship with the children in the program.
“We get to sing with them in concerts, help them out in workshops, and raise money to support their music programming. It’s a great group to be a part of, and the level of performance is really fantastic,” shares SONG co-founder and Safe Harbour member Shannon Linton.
Sounds of the Next Generation – or SONG – provides free socially-inclusive music programming for children and youth in Northumberland County.
