Port Hope Police Cruiser Involved In Collision Last Week That Sent One Officer To Hospital

Cobourg Police have issued a release concerning an incident last week where a number of emergency service vehicles went into the ditch while responding to a collision.

The release from Cobourg Police dated, January 14, 2019 stated emergency services were responding to a Port Hope Police cruiser that had gone into the ditch on Elgin Street East at Workman Road.

The officer was taken to hospital by paramedics and was released.  At the time, it wasn’t publicly stated it was a Port Hope Police cruiser.

January 8th
· Motor Vehicle Collisions- Police attended Workman RD. & Elgin St. E. upon report of a single vehicle MVC involving a marked Port Hope Police cruiser. A number of other vehicles including a Cobourg Fire Truck and Cobourg police cruiser were involved in subsequent minor collisions responding on the icy roadway. One minor injury only.
