Former Municipal Water Treatment Plant In Port Hope Reduced To Rubble

The old Municipal Water Treatment Plant in Port Hope was torn down into rubble on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.
The plant ran from 1936 to August 2005 when the new plant opened beside it on Marsh Street.
The former plant was manually operated but was torn down as part of the Port Hope Area Initiative and the property will be turned over to the Municipality of Port Hope following remediation.
