Northumberland County announces the annual Classic Rock Restock event Oct. 11.
Classic Rock 107.9 radio personality York Bell-Smith will broadcast live for 36 straight hours in front of Victoria Hall, with the goal of raising donations for the county’s Food 4 All Warehouse in advance of the holiday season.
In past years, the Restock has raised thousands of pounds of food and brought in significant cash donations. The press release reminds everyone that 100% of cash donations will purchase additional food supplies, and all donations will be distributed to the 13 food banks throughout the county.
The news release also listed the top 10 most-in-demand items for the food banks: fresh fruits and vegetables, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meat and fish, peanut butter, soups and stews, pasta and pasta sauce, canned tomatoes, canned pasta, toilet paper, and shampoo and soaps.
The invitation is out for everyone to come out and make the Restock another success.
Victoria Hall is located at 55 King St. W. in Cobourg, and the event runs from 6 a.m. Oct. 11 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12.
