Possible Suspect In Custody Following Weekend Cobourg Stabbing

Unconfirmed reports to Today’s Northumberland have stated a possible suspect is in custody following a weekend stabbing in Cobourg.

On Saturday morning, 45-year-old Kevin Bandy was stabbed numerous times.  Updated reports to Today’s Northumberland indicate Bandy may have been stabbed up to 17 times.

Bandy is from the Roseneath area was airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto where he was initially listed in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Three person’s of interest were initially taken into custody but have been released with no conditions.

Several reports to Today’s Northumberland have indicated a person is in custody in relation to the stabbing.

At this time, it’s unknown if the person has been formally charged, but Today’s Northumberland will endeavor to give updates when available.

E-mails sent to senior staff at Cobourg Police were blocked.

Today’s Northumberland has been banned from receiving press releases from the Cobourg Police Service, but will endeavor to keep the public informed.
