Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Drug Impaired Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle

On Monday August 27, 2018 at 6:32 pm Cobourg Police responded to a possible impaired driver leaving a local business in the Town of Cobourg.

Cobourg Police located the impaired driver on Walton Street Cobourg, Ontario. Investigation revealed that the male driver had care or control of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. The driver, 52 year old Joe DAFOE of Cobourg was arrested and was escorted to the Cobourg Police Service for further examination.

The assessment by the Drug Recognition Expert revealed a drug category known as a central nervous system stimulant and narcotic analgesic.

Upon arrest, the driver had narcotics, specifically cocaine, on his person. The accused is charged Drug Impaired Care or Control of a motor vehicle, and Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Joe DAFOE was released with a Promise to Appear with a court date of September 19th, 2018.
