Northumberland OPP – Civic Long Weekend Traffic Initiative

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had a busy weekend with traffic enforcement that yielded numerous charges in support of the Civic Day long weekend traffic initiative.

The charges included the following:
· 10 charges for failing to move over for an emergency vehicle
· 149 speeding charges
· 10 seatbelt charges
· 13 other moving violation charges
· 1 distracted driving charge
· 28 other Highway Traffic Act charges
· 18 Insurance related charges
· 1 Off Road vehicle charge
· 5 other provincial statutes charges
