Northumberland OPP – Two Cramahe Men Charged With Drug Related Offences

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – On June 22, 2018 at around 3:15 p.m. an officer with the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a RIDE program on County Road 50 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

A white pickup truck approached the officer at the RIDE check point. The officer observed evidence of illegal drugs in the truck resulting in both occupants being arrested. The officer began an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. As a result of the investigation two males were charges with the following offences:

Scott Thompson (age 24) from Cramahe Township, Ontario:

– Possession of a Schedule I substance – Cocaine
– Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana over 30 grams
– Possession of a Schedule III substance
– Having care and control of a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor

Brandon Kelly (age 23) from Cramahe Township, Ontario:

– Possession of a Schedule I substance – Cocaine
– Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana over 30 grams
– Possession of a Schedule III substance
– Having liquor in open container in other than licenced premises, residence or private place

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on July 18, 2018.
