Quinte West OPP – Highway 401 East Bound Closed at Glen Miller Road Trenton Confirmed One Fatality

(Quinte West, ON) – On 29 June 2018 at 12:26 am officers with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 E/B between Glen Miller Road and Wallbridge Loyalist Road. The collision occurred just after midnight. The collision involved 4 Tractor Trailers and now updating that a fifth tractor trailer was involved.

There is one confirmed fatality and one driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Police remain on scene. The Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit of the OPP remains at scene investigating and the road remains closed.

Highway 401 East Bound will remain closed for a few hours and there is an Emergency Detour Route (EDR) set up. Traffic is being directed off at Glen Miller Road MM 526 and heads south to Hwy 2 where it is directed back onto the 401 at Wallbridge Loyalist Road. Please follow the EDR to re-enter 401 at Hwy 62, Wallbridge loyalist Rd.

The OPP is requesting the Public remain patient at this time as there are heavy traffic delays through Trenton.
