Quinte West OPP Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On June 16, 2018 at approximately 1:27 p.m., officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), as well as the Quinte West Fire Department and Hastings Quinte EMS responded to West Street in the City of Quinte West for a single motor vehicle collision where a pedestrian was struck.

As a result of the collision, a 49 year old male from Quinte West was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The identity of the deceased person is being held pending next of kin notification.

The investigation is continuing with members of the Quinte West OPP and East Region Crime Units under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Rob Matthews, Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
