Port Hope Police – Person Charged With Cultivation/Man Charged With Sexual Assault

Man charged with cultivation

A 30 year old man is charged with cultivation of marihuana. On the 8th of June 2018 Port Hope Police responded to an east end residence for a non-related matter. While there Police noted potted marihuana plants outside of the residence.  Patrick Parliament appears in court in July and is further charged with breaching his probation order.

Man charged after domestic incident.

A 36 year old man is facing assault charges after Port Hope Police responded to a domestic in the Municipality’s east end.  On the 8th of June Police commenced an investigation into the dispute after receiving information that the man allegedly assaulted a person described as his spouse.  The man was arrested at the scene and is charged with assault level 1, theft under $5000.00 and mischief.  He appears in court in July 2018. No names will be released to protect the identity of the victim.

Thefts from unlocked vehicles

Thefts reported from unlocked vehicles are continuing to be received by the Port Hope Police Service.  On the 11th of June a Brunswick Ave resident reported identification stolen from within the vehicle.  On the 12thof June a Walton Street resident reported water missing and his vehicle rummaged through. On the 13th of June an Ellen Street resident reported a debit card and a GPS stolen.  Also on the 13th a Barrett Street resident reported her vehicle entered and tools missing.  Police continue to advise residents to lock their vehicles when not in use or risk the chance of property being stolen.

Man charged with assault

A 55 year old man is charged with assaulting his daughter after Port Hope Police responded to a complaint from 14 year old girl. The incident was reported to Police on the 11th of June shortly before 11 pm.  Police alleged that the man assaulted the teenager during an argument.  The man was arrested shortly after 11:00pm and is charged with common assault.  No names will be released to protect the victim’s identity.

Man charged with sexual assault.

A 23 year old man is facing charges of sexual assault, forcible confinement and criminal harassment after Port Hope Police received a complaint on the 13th of June 2018. Police commenced an investigation into the claims.  The incidents is alleged to have occurred on the 10th of June and 13th of June and involves the accused groping the victim in an elevator of an apartment building and then harassing her a few days later. There is no relationship between the accused and the victim.  He was held in custody pending a show cause hearing. Chevaun Hakim Ramone Jones stands accused.
