Victoria Hall in Cobourg Available for Temporary Respite from Poor Air Quality

In Local

In response to the heat and poor air quality, the Town of Cobourg would like to remind all residents that the Victoria Hall lobby is open to all members of the public who require temporary respite.

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit and Peterborough Public Health has issued an Air Quality Warning for Northumberland County due to Wildfire Smoke.

Environment Canada is indicating that the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) will reach a level of 10 in Northumberland County, indicating high pollution levels due to wildfire smoke travelling through the area.

Those who require temporary respite from the outdoors, may visit the Victoria Hall lobby.

Victoria Hall’s air exchange system is equipped with pre-filters and HEPA air filters. A warning that 100% of particles cannot be removed, however, air quality within Victoria Hall is minored by sensors.

Victoria Hall is open this week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30a.m. – 7:00p.m.
