HonkMobile Hits the Parking Meters of Cobourg

In Community, Editor Choice, Local

The Town of Cobourg has partnered with HonkMobile to offer a new way to pay for parking at on-street and municipal parking lot locations.
With the Honk app, residents and visitors can seamlessly search, pay for and top up parking from a phone, tablet or computer.
Coin operated parking meters and Pay and Display meters will remain available. HonkMobile is available in addition to the existing payment options.
How it works:
1. Download the HonkMobile app. Find it at honkmobile.com, Google Play or the App Store
2. Set up your account. Add as many vehicles and payment sources as you like to your profile.
Further information to come says Communications Manager for the Town of Cobourg, Ashley Purdy.
But adds the town had a “soft launch” last week to work out the kinks and so far Cobourg has 65 registered users.
As an added bonus, there is no cost to the Town from HonkMobile.
“We did integrate Honk with our parking system AIMS. The information is provided to enforcement via our parking software in real-time, this was at a cost of $5,000.00.”
Each transaction fee for the user is $0.35.
