Ford Nation Rolls Into Cobourg

In News

Ford Nation came to Cobourg on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
Doug Ford`s bus met with approximately 300 supporters in the lobby of the Cobourg Community Centre.

Ford was greeted by local Progressive Conservative candidate David Piccini and many supporters of both men.
After greeting supporters Ford spoke with media who were allowed to ask only three questions.
`We have to lower the hydro rates. We have the highest in North America, we have to get rid of the carbon tax and put an environment together that entrepreneurs and businesses want to open up.
Stating Ontario has “endless taxes“ Ford said his government will create jobs.
`We`re going to pay down out debt and make it better.“

To balance the budget Ford said if he`s elected Premier it will be the same way they did it in Toronto.
“We were facing $774 million of pressure going into that year.“
“We found a billion dollars of savings and delivered a 0% tax increase and we created jobs.“
Ford wants to bring a third party to audit the books, “what we know already that there is hundreds of hundreds of billions of dollars of waste.“
But he states not one person will lose their jobs.
For the people of Northumberland, Ford said his message is clear, “help is on its way.“
“You`re going to have a great representative with David. We are going to create jobs. This region needs jobs. That is number one. Because once someone has a job, it`s money in their pocket, they feel great about themselves, they contribute back into society.“

The next stop for Doug Ford was a visit to Lorenz Conveying Products in Cobourg which is a small manufacturing facility where he announced the fourth of his five priorities in his Pan For the People of Ontario.

Ford committed that an Ontario PC Government will take immediate action to create good jobs including bringing manufacturing jobs back to Ontario.
“There is no secret to creating good jobs in Ontario,“said Ford.
“It all starts with lower taxes, cutting red tape and regulations, and reducing hydro bills for everyone. We need to attract businesses to Ontario, not drive them away as Kathleen Wynnne and the Liberals have done.“
The Ontario PC`s have pledged to cut corporate income taxes from 11.5% to 10.5% and enable businesses to creat good paying jobs and attract businesses back to Ontario.
Ford highlighted how, under Wynne Ontario has lost over 300,000 well-paying manufacturing jobs.
“These were good jobs with good benefits that gave families a good quality of life.“
“Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals have decimated Ontario`s once vibrant manufacturing economy and shipped jobs and manufacturing overseas.“
During a short q and a with the media, a CBC reporter played a recording of what Wynne had said earlier in the day.
Comparing Ford to President Donald Trump, Wynne said in the recording that Ford says lies about anyone at anytime.

Throughout the playing of the recording Ford said Wynne was getting desperate.
Ford said unlike Wynne, he is focussing on the people of Ontario.
“She`s trying to hoodwink the people. She thinks she is smarter then the people. I work for the people. She thinks the people work for her.“
“This government is the most politically corrupt government this country has ever seen – ever.“
“But all of us are going down there. We are all going down there and you`re going to have a voice and we`re going to make sure we turn this ship around.“
