Assault with a Weapon Arrest:

Two Peterborough men are facing charges following an incident at a local high school.

On April 6, 2018 an altercation took place at Crestwood Secondary School that involved non-students that had attended the school. During the altercation the 19-year-old accused was involved in a consensual fight with a 16-year-old male.

During the altercation it was reported that the 19-year-old accused, who is not a student at the school, brandished a canister of pepper spray and sprayed the male in the face and also brandished the pepper spray at two staff members. Also during the incident it was reported that a 22-year-old male, also not a student at the school, assaulted a staff member who had attempted to intervene. Police were called and attended the scene.

As a result of the investigation the following persons were arrested and charged:

Dylan John McCarrell, 19, of Cedar Bank Road, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon X3.

Clayton Richard Spry, 22, of Wilfred Drive, was arrested and charged with assault. He was also charged under the Trespass to Property Act with fail to leave premises when directed.

The co-accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on May 3, 2018.

 

Over 80mg Arrest:

A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges following a Sunday morning traffic stop.

On April 8, 2018 at approximately 8:40 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop after observing the accused speeding on Lansdowne Street in the area of Ashburnham Drive. While speaking with the male driver of the vehicle officers noted an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath.

A subsequent breath sample revealed the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system while operating a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Muhannad Hassan, 22, of Hunter Street, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80mg blood alcohol content.The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 26, 2018.

 

Over 80mg Arrest:

A 20-year-old Belleville man has been charged following a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

On April 8, 2018 at approximately 12:45 a.m. the accused was observed by police driving a motor vehicle the wrong way northbound on George Street North from Sherbrooke Street.

A traffic stop was conducted and a subsequent breath sample revealed the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system while operating a motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Jeffery Daniel Eastcott, 20, of Sunningdale Drive, Belleville, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80mg blood alcohol content.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 3, 2018.
