Morgan Garland Second at Provincials

In Sports

Morgan Garland placed Second at the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships hosted in Kingston March 16-18, 2018. Garland has won all the qualifying events she attended this season in the Gold Triathlon event. At the Provincials she came up against some tough competition and achieved the second place medal. The triathlon in Figure Skating consists of three different solos to music. A creative skill solo comprised mostly of footwork, and this year Garland skated to Jail House Rock, an interpretive solo where the skater interprets a theme.  Garland’s theme this season was domestic abuse, and a Gold level Freeskate solo consisting of jumps and spins to the sound track The Theory of Everything.

This concludes Morgan’s Figure skating Career and she will be moving forward to the University of Toronto to peruse Medical Sciences in September. She will be missed by her fellow skaters and students at the Port Hope Figure Skating Club.
