Quinte West OPP – Arrests Made in Property Crime Investigation (Names Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals in connection to several, commercial property crime occurrences.

In October of 2023, Quinte West OPP, including members of the Quinte West Community Street Crime Unit commenced a property crime investigation. On November 14, 2023, with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT), two people were arrested.

Paul HELM, 52 years old from Quinte West, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft – Six counts
  • Mischief – Six counts
  • Break and enter
  • Possession of break in tools
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Breach of probation order

Tanya COOPER, 45 years old from Quinte West, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of break in tools
  • Fail to comply with Undertaking

The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
