IT’s here!!!
Downtown Port Hope has transformed into Derry, Maine.
Over the last several days, American flags have gone up around the downtown, and facades of storefronts have switched the town into something it was just a few years ago when Stephen King’s IT was filmed in Port Hope.
Only this time, there certainly seems to be more fans that have turned out to watch the making of the movie called Largo.
Security is very tight with everyone watching being told not to take any type of photos with any type of camera or phone.
Word quickly spread by the movie people that Today’s Northumberland was in the area, but we managed to get a few photos of the action.
Including one of the stars of the film, Jessica Chastain being grazed by a pickup truck for one shot.
Bill Hader from Saturday Night Live is also rumoured to be in the film.
A pickup truck full of “low stain blood” was parked outside the Capitol Arts Centre on Queen Street.
The mural is also back in the alleyway just off Walton Street.
And of course there were those red balloons. On Monday, there were more than a few going into Queenies Back Shop on Walton Street.
Rumour has it, six Port Hope Police officers are hired by the film crew to help block off the streets.
